Colombian studio GM Architects made use of an extensive load of creativity when creating this luxurious villa named the GM1 House. This two-story contemporary residence in Girardot, Colombia, displays imposing design lines that seem to be folding on top of one another. Deep overhangs protect the glazed interiors from direct sunshine while beautifying the overall structure. A simple space arrangement including the volumetric architecture, a swimming pool right by the covered terrace and a simple landscaped garden compose the modern residential construction.
At night, illuminated by 12 piercing lights shining through floating stairs, cast interesting shadows on the white washed wall below. Next to the staircase, a strip of narrow wooden deck separates the house from the pool, creating a visual break between the garden and the house. The second floor offers views of the surroundings, either from behind the glazed wall or from the open-air terrace surrounding the interior spaces. Is this a house you would be proud to call home?
