The 4×30 House is nestled in between residential buildings rising on both of its sides. The most challenging thing about this project was the possibility of constructing a comfortable residence on a lot measuring 4×30m. The collaboration between CR2 Arquitetos and FGMF Architects resulted in the construction of a flexible collection of spaces. A centrally situated garden ensures natural illumination and ventilation and allowed the architects to design a modern footbridge linking the two different sized volumes. Retractable glass doors connect the outside garden spaces to the light-flooded interiors.
Located in São Paulo, Brazil, the contemporary residence features entertaining and private spaces displayed in both volumes: the kitchen and living room lie on the first level of the larger volume, while the second floor is occupied by the bedrooms; the smaller volume shelters the office and service area. A large deck above the bedrooms is beautifully enhanced by the strip of green roof that surrounds it, completing the architecture of this creatively designed residence.
