The CW has announced it will bring its video content to Apple TV via a dedicated app. The app will feature ad-supported full episodes available for streaming the day after they air.
Could it be a harbinger of things to come? To date, none of the major networks have elected to bring their content to Apple TV, instead using middlemen, such as Hulu and Netflix.
The move will, no doubt, be watched closely by the industry. If the move proves successful, it may encourage other networks to do likewise.
No release date has been announced for the CW app.
