Connemara Cask Strength is made by the Cooley Distillery in County Louth, Ireland.
It is bottled right out of the cask without being cut for uniformity. Like many traditional Irish whiskeys, it is smooth and sweet, but this is more smokey – like it’s Scottish counterparts.
This is a complex drink on both the nose and palate with nuanced aromas of sweet peat, straw, vanilla, roasted nuts and chocolate, and flavors of honey, cream, toast, cracked pepper, and wildflower all mingled with warm smoke.
Enjoy straight, on the rocks, or with a small splash of water.
A bottle of Connemara Cask Strength Single Malt Irish Whiskey will run about $60.
