Dior Joaillerie’s newest collection Rose des Vents has taken shape after the anecdotes from Christian Dior’s life. It has been inspired by Christian Dior’s travels around the world, his favorite flower and also by the star that became his lucky charm after he had found on the very day Maison Christian Dior was created. Designed by Dior Joaillerie’s creative director Victoire de Castellane, the new collection of precious lucky charms pays tribute to the rose des vents, or wind rose which was a recurring motif in Christian Dior’s life. Comprising of four bracelets, four necklaces and one long necklace, each of the pieces in the collection is double-sided. On one side a diamond is set in the center of a “rose des vents” in pink gold. On the other side, a precious stone represents each of the cardinal directions: mother-of-pearl for north, turquoise for south, pink opal for east and lapis-lazuli for west. The stones from far-flung horizons reprise some of Monsieur Dior’s favorite colors.
Lure some of his luck in to your life too by clasping on Rose des Vents neck-piece in yellow gold with diamonds and mother of pearl. Sporting a $9,700 tag, it surely doesn’t cost a fortune!
While the collection’s bracelet in yellow gold with diamond and lapis lazuli mesmerizes for $2,000. Another piece of jewelry to be worn on the wrist from the same collection also dazzles with diamond and turquoise in yellow gold. This one is fitted with a $1,700 tag. While the pink gold edition with diamond and pink opal is also available for $2,000. Victoire de Castellane also created a series of short video cartoons, staging imaginary dialogues that she might have had with Monsieur Dior while crafting the collection together.
In the space of a few seconds, the light-hearted vignettes present the worlds embodied by each of the cardinal points, and the stones that represent them.
