A new take on counting sheep!
Savile Row became home to a flock of Bowmont Merino and Exmoor Longhorn sheep this week to celebrate the opening of Wool Week by The Campaign for Wool.
The sheep, whose wool is used to produce the best of British cloth, were a whimsical delight — as were models wearing suits from each tailoring house.
Three Lalanne sheep, and a piece by Joy Pitts — commissioned by The Campaign for Wool to produce a piece out of Huntsman’s labels from years gone by — were on display, in Huntsman of Savile Row’s window, in particular.
Huntsman further celebrated by giving interested visitors tours of the workshops and explaining the work that goes into producing a signature Huntsman suit, as well as offering a “Bespoke Masterclass” taken by Co-Head Cutter Dario Carnera.
There were champagne and canapés… and a chance to raise a glass to the sheep who’s wool makes Savile Row suits so spectacular!
