Leaving the fashion world while holding the top slot of the most wanted model of the moment, Cara Delevingne opens up about why she is “not doing fashion work any more.” Having had enough of the ramp walks and fashion shows as well as campaigns, the British beauty has closed the doors of fashion as she has found her calling in Hollywood. “Modelling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while,” says Cara. She also reveals that “It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was … I felt so old.”
Flaunting a been-there-done-that attitude, the 23-year-old model-turned-actress elucidates, “I was, like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge. It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse.” She also reveals her struggle to cope up with the stress that resulted in to psoriasis, stating, “I am not doing fashion work any more, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff.”
Paying a physical as well as an emotional price for her fashion-filled modelling journey, she added, “It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse.”
Cara started her acting career with a minor role in the 2012 film adaptation of Anna Karenina. Further branching out into the acting industry, she made her debut in 2015’s Paper Towns, and will co-star as Enchantress in the upcoming superhero film Suicide Squad.
