Here’s the first look at the BMW X4 Concept, which will be unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show on April 21st. While technically a concept, it’s really just a thinly veiled version of the production car with some added accents and larger wheels. When it does arrive, expect a selection of engines including a 240 hp turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cyliner as well as a turbo inline-six making 300 hp.
We expect to see more of this car in the future. It will be interesting to see if BMW decides to produce M versions of its smaller crossovers, as it has with the larger pair. An X4 M would probably use the twin-turbocharged six that is expected in the next M3 sedan and M4 coupe.
BMW Chief Executive, Norbert Reithofer has said that the BMW X4 will measure around 183 inches and use a mix of turbocharged four- and six-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines, all sourced from the X3.
