20 years ago, Italian automaker Alfa Romeo exited the U.S market. The company had crafted some iconic (and expensive) sports cars, but also had a reputation for unreliability. Now Alfa Romeo is back in the U.S. with the 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C.

The 4C is a aggressively styled coupe built around a carbon-fiber tub. Aluminum is used for roof structures and crash supports, and the engine is all-aluminum as well. All this makes for a light vehicle – with the 4C weighing in just under 2,000 pounds. The turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine will make 240 hp. The car measures 157 inches (399 cm) long, 79 inches (200 cm) wide, 46 inches (118 cm) high, and has a wheelbase of 94 inches (238 cm).

The 2014 Alfa Romeo 4C should arrive in the U.S. this fall, with a starting price of around $70,000.
