The makers of the BlackBerry smartphone, Research In Motion (RIM), are reportedly ready to unveil their long-awaited touchscreen handset. The new phone will plunge into a market dominated by the popular iPhone from Apple.
The phone, the slider 9800 BlackBerry, will reportedly be launched next Tuesday.
RIM’s marketing share has eroded over the years in the wake of the iPhone and other smartphones that use Google’s Android OS.
AT&T is expected to get exclusive U.S. rights to sell the phone.
