Less than two years after the famous musician purchased the property, Billy Joel has put his 13,200 square foot Florida mansion and the adjoining vacant lot back on the market for $27 million. It was briefly listed at $29 million last year before being taken back off the market; potential buyers can only hope that this listing, at $2 million cheaper, stays up for longer. Still, it’s current price is more than double what Billy Joel initially paid for the property.
The main house features 7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, and the estate also includes a 2 bedroom guest house, a pool, and a four car garage. The mansion is located just south of West Palm Beach on an inland waterway, and the property features a tunnel that cuts under Ocean Boulevard to allow owners to access the beach. Last renovated this year, the mansion has merged 21st century aesthetics with old world charm.
Photographs of the interior show a palatial space complete with columned arches, wrought iron railings on a landing overlooking a sitting room and on the spiral staircase, a stone vaulted ceiling in the kitchen, intricate molding in the dining room, and breathtakingly carved and painted ceilings in a number of different rooms.
