The next gen Apple TV will offer 99-cent TV episodes that can be streamed, not downloaded. If rumors are true, Apple would be cutting the price of TV episodes in half and competing directly with Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon’s Video On Demand. Currently Apple TV charges $1.99 for an episode.
Like current Apple TV downloads of movies, a downloaded episode would allow 30 days to watch the TV episode.
Apple has been floating a $.99 episode rate for a while, but getting the networks and studios on board has been met with skepticism.
