The Stella McCartney Kids collection has been inspired by the upcoming film “Maleficent” featuring new playful designs that capture the characters and visuals from this imaginary tale. Though for her latest film, Maleficent, Angelina Jolie portrays a demonic witch, the collection, that she has lent her identity to, is far from being intimidating. Featuring eight cute styles for girls and boys aged between four and 14, the collection includes T-shirts, princess dresses, sneakers and sandals. It ranges from about $75 to $185.

In anticipation of the upcoming worldwide release of the film on on May 30, the Stella McCartney Kids collection will be available from April end at Stella McCartney stores worldwide, including its first kids’ store in Hong Kong, and online, as well as Disney stores and online, and select kids’ stores. The new film based on the untold story of the iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty ” brings to light the villainous point of view.

The English designer expresses her excitement, “I’ve always been a huge fan of Disney growing up, as was my mother, and I grew up watching all the films, like most kids did. When the opportunity presented itself and I was invited by Angelina Jolie to visit the film set, I jumped at the chance.”

McCartney’s relations with Disney isn’t new, as she has already collaborated with them in the past to design a costume jewelry line for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”. WWD also reports that she had featured Disney characters in her fall 2009 ad campaign.
