Let the tablet wars begin.
Verizon and Samsung announced Wednesday that the Android-powered Galaxy Tab will be available on Nov.11. Verizon will be the first carrier of the Galaxy Tab, but others will follow shortly.
The Galaxy Tab also comes with a price tag – $599. Data plans start at $20.
The Galaxy Tab will differentiate itself from the iPad in several ways. First, it has a 7″ screen – compared to a 9.7″ screen on the iPad. But it also has rear and front facing cameras.
The Galaxy Tab will be the first real competitor to the iPad. It’s a great move by Samsung to get the device out before Christmas – giving them the jump on a slew of tablets that will hit the market in 2011.
