House Like Village is an innovative architecture project which brings a new layout concept in the world of design. Imagined and implemented by Dutch architectural firm Marc Koehler Architects and located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the building has a total surface of 1,772 square feet and accommodates four small homes in one.
In between the four homes, there are various passageways, unusual inter-cultural spaces, resembling exterior streets. This way, the building community can interact in a highly original manner. This structure also has the advantage of allowing plenty of natural light inside the building, and all the way to the private bedrooms and facilities. The House Like Village is spread over two levels. The first consists of living areas and private “living cubes”, while the second for cooking, dining and working. The overall design is minimalist, yet very creative, with wood playing a major factor in providing an overall welcoming atmosphere.
