Gemstones play the role of adding color as well as sparkle to your appearance. Inspired by precious gemstones, Bvlgari wants you to smell good too! The Italian jewelry and luxury goods brand has announced the Bvlgari Le Gemme Collection. Comprising of six fragrances, the new gems-inspired collection is presented in a luxurious bottle shaped like ancient Greek and Roman amphora.

bvlgari_le_Gemme_Collection_fragrance_1Perfumer Daniela Andrier of Givaudan was commissioned to concoct the scents according to the gems. Ashlemah is inspired by the gemstone of amethyst and it includes notes of lavender, violet and heliotrope. Stirred by turquoise, exotic chypre floral fragrance Noorah includes notes of galbanum, cardamom, iris, benzoin, tobacco, oak, oil, patchouli and vanilla. Peridot gemstone has given rise to Lilaia which mixes mastic, mint, orange and mate. Citrine is represented by floral fruity fragrance Maravilla, which smells like a chypre concept of rich citruses, fruity notes of peach, jasmine, patchouli and acethyvenol. Amarena represents tourmaline with a blend of sensual tuberose and powdery rose accords. And the moon stone inspired Calaluna is a woody Spicy fragrance  which contains sandalwood, cardamom, heliotrope, amber and pear accents.

With an intention to underline the historic symbolism of gemstones, the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton owned brand initiated work on the gemstones-inspired fragrance concept three years ago.

Valeria Manini, Bulgari Parfums managing director, mentioned, “This is a special project, conceived to represent the brand over the long term. Just as there used to be a tea route and silk route, we had the idea to develop a ‘gem route,’ creating fragrances that represent the ideas and emotions associated with each gem.”

Bvlgari Le Gemme Collection will be available in bottles of 30 to 350 ml. with a 100 ml bottle starting from $381. It will hit the shelves of perfumeries in Europe and Asia in September followed by U.S. debut in February 2015.
