Rene Redzepi’s Copenhagen restaurant reclaimed its spot at the top of Restaurant Magazine’s list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, the winners were revealed at a ceremony last night at London’s famous Guidehall.
Viewed as the Oscars of fine dining, this is the forth time Noma has topped the list of San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
“Guys, we’re not losers. It’s too f*** crazy.” said Noma’s head chef, Rene Redzepi, picking up the award. “Thank you for believing in us. You can’t believe what you’ve done for our little restaurant.” (Watch below:)
Noma’s first win occurred in 2010 and is directly responsible for catapulting the restaurant to fame.
San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant List is now in its 12th year and has become more influential in transforming a restaurant than the Michelin star rankings.
Overall, the US, Spain, and France tied for having the highest number of restaurants on the list, with seven apiece. Meanwhile, Europe landed 28 restaurants, and Asia seven.
Also at this year’s event, British chef Fergus Henderson received a lifetime achievement award.
