Great look by the Wall Street Journal Magazine at Walton Ford’s Pancha Tantra – now available for $70 (as opposed to the $1800 limited edition version).
“You shouldn’t lend me a book,” Walton Ford writes in the Appendix to Taschen’s new, unlimited edition, of the “Pancha Tantra” that was published last year in a limited-print run of 1600 copies. This is because Ford uses and abuses his books: they may be “stepped on, tripped over, or hit with drops of watercolor. They might be splayed until their spines break, or stained by amber water leaking from a snow-heavy roof.” They are his research materials, and the inspiration behind his paintings, as this remarkable volume, now available at the more wallet-friendly price of $70 (the previous version sold for $1800) makes clear. – From WSJ Magazine
