Inspired by the world of fashion, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin is upping its image with a new advertising campaign. Founded in 1772, that is 243 years ago, the French Champagne house is based in Reims and specializes in premium products.With an intention to infuse its new fall campaign with a dose of style and fashion, Veuve Clicquot breaks the tradition to rope in photographer Craig McDean. He captures model Alison Nix in a series of guises that pay homage to the spirit of Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin-Clicquot, the French businesswoman who took over her husband’s wine business when she was widowed at age 27.The glam campaign, developed under the direction of Veuve Clicquot president Jean-Marc Gallot, boasts of the tagline “Let life surprise you.” Comprising of four images, it shows Alison holding on to her drink in a playful, relaxed as well as commanding moods. Gallot who has worked with labels like Louis Vuitton and Fendi, and wines and spirits houses like Ruinart, states, “With this new campaign, we turn to our growing international public, to bring a new spirit to a new audience, without ever forgetting what has always made us great.”
