“The Artist” dominated at the 84th Academy Awards bringing in Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor among others. Not nominated was Uggie, the scene-stealing dog. Like other stars in nominated films, Uggie received a little special treat from one of the world’s top jewelers. Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard designed a bow tie of 18kt yellow gold and satin for Uggie to wear to the Academy Awards. The bow tie featured his name in a dog-boned shaped charm. The bow tie will be auctioned off and all proceeds of will be donated to The Amanda Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping homeless animals.
Chopard also adorned one of the Oscar winners from the movie, winner for Best Director, Michel Hazanavicius, who wore a Chopard L.U.C. XP Tonneau watch on his wrist. This is the tenth year in a row that Chopard has outfitted one of the winners for the night. Just something for all future nominees to keep in mind when next year’s Academy Awards rolls around.
