This boutique resort is located on a 37 acre estate situated around an elegant mansion with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is the former residence of the artist and author Elliott Daingerfield. The resort’s accommodations are built around the elegantly restored Greek Revival Mansion.
Staying at Westglow offers you two choices – one of the six rooms in the main mansion, or venturing just across the lot to Cedar Lodge. The mansion offers grandeur and elegance. The lodge boasts a rustic appearance, but more privacy, including rooms with private decks. Each is excellent.
As stated, Westglow is a destination to relax, and the array of spa and health services is extensive. In fact, to NOT use the spa and wellness services almost seems a crime, considering the options available. Some of the amenities available include an indoor swimming pool, whirlpools, steam room, saunas, cardiovascular center, weight room, tennis court, and fitness center.
Rowland’s Restaurant offers excellent cuisine – elegant, yet without being overindulgent.
The staff at Westglow was first rate. While many were younger, they were attentive, friendly and helpful at every step.
In addition to the wide array of spa services, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park area offers plenty of activities, including mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, rafting and skiing. It is heaven for those who enjoy the outdoors.
