A restaurant in the heart of London’s swish Mayfair has created what they claim to be the world’s most expensive cocktail in honor of singer Grace Jones, valued at a stunning $14,430.

What could possibly make a champagne cocktail ring in at the price of a new car you ask? A bevy made with vintage, Cristal champagne circa 1990, and 1888 Samalens Vieille Relique Vintage Bas Armagnac, an rare Armagnac that pre-dates the Boer War, reported The Daily Mail UK.

Created to mark the opening of Gigi’s Italian Restaurant, the cocktail — also named Gigi’s — was launched to honor one of its celebrity attendees, Grace Jones.

The cocktail is topped with edible gold leaves and is also made with Angostura Bitters and sugar.

Don’t look for it on the restaurant’s cocktail menu, though, as the cocktail was created to be served to the eatery’s A-list guests, adds the Daily Mail.

Makers claim the Gigi’s drink tops the world’s most expensive tipples — beating Melbourne’s £8,167 Winston into second place.

Officially, the Guinness world record-holder for the most expensive cocktail in the world belongs to Australian barman Joel Heffernan, who sold “the Winston,” made with Croizet’s 1858 Cuvee Leonie cognac for £8,583 ($12,970).
