A leading bike company in New York has teamed up with some of the world’s top designers to offer a bike share program with a difference this September. Conceived by non-profit organization The Fashion Center as part of New York Fashion Week (September 8-15), the Tour De Fashion will put 30 handmade, colorfully decorated Bowery Lane Bicycles on the streets of the Big Apple to ensure fitness-loving fashionistas can hop between shows.
The project has enlisted 30 New York designers to style the bikes, including Diane von Furstenberg, Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Nicole Miller, Patricia Underwood, Elie Tahari, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Minkoff, Carlos Falchi, Doo.Ri Chung, Rebecca Taylor and Prabal Gurung. After New York Fashion Week ends, the bikes are set to be auctioned off, with proceeds going towards the Council of Fashion Designers of America Incubator program.
