Do you believe in “love-vertising” at first sight?
A shelter of creativity, the brand new JWT office in Amsterdam, generically called “Seriously Surprising”, is one of those places that stun you visually and makes you fall in love with it. The artists responsible with the design and decorations of this outstanding universe are: Alrik Koudenburg and RJW Elsinga.
“JWT Amsterdam is housed inside the beautiful Hirsch&Cie Building from 1882. The agency itself started just 18 years before, in 1864 (aka the oldest advertisment firm ever). Yet, it has a surprisingly young hotshop mentality”. In the world of advertising, there are no limits when it comes to creativity. The more you innovate, the better you sell. In order to come up with a brilliant idea, you need to place yourself in a less common setting. JWT is definitely not a regular office. The entrance windows already “warn” about the “irregularities” in the agency’s work: JWT’s work is “Seriously Surprising”.
Not impressed by words? Well, we agree with you that a piece of copy is not everything. How about interaction and visual impact? Can images (together with words) have an impact on you? As soon as you see the reception office, you will realise that something unusual is happening here. Just take a look at the mural wall. It’s upside down.
As you sneak inside the office, you discover a whole range of “creative corners”. There’s a “Think-ing” area, where you can brainstorm or just sit and let yourself inspired, waiting for that one idea, that will change the face of advertising, to come. The office is adorned with plants and drawings. Moreover, for those who really adore the world of pixels, here’s a seriously surprising set of CMYK coloured robots, ready to stimulate your creativity.
