Roger Scoble blogs about the latest gadgets, travel and luxury…
I would be the first to admit that ‘curing greed’ is not the best of topics to write on; especially when you are writing for a luxury blog. However Dutch designer Diddo has come up with a ‘cure for greed’ in an artistic manner.
The ‘cure’ is a shot which would be delivered by a 24 karat gold-plated syringe, two 24 karat gold-plated needles and the medication itself. It is this ‘medicine’ which is made from $10,000 worth of currency notes which are shredded, blended and well, you can watch the video for yourself which are the subject of this art.
Diddo aims to generate attention to the problems that human greed are creating in the world and wants to create a dialogue centered on the same.
About the object
The personally monogrammed custom-made mahogany or walnut box contains:
– One 24-karat gold-plated syringe.
– One 5 ml crimp-sealed serum vial containing one dose of stabilized pure dollar ink
mechanically and chemically recovered from approximately $10,000 in US currency.
– Two 24-karat gold-plated needles.
The artist took 4 months to create ‘the cure for greed’.
