Pursuitist presents the very best things to do at Disneyland. We recently visited California’s iconic Disneyland during the celebration of their 60th anniversary. Join us as we visit Walt Disney‘s original theme park in Anaheim, California. Additionally, we hopped over to Disney’s California Adventure Park and visited the amazing new Cars Land and watched the stunning World of Color show at Paradise Pier. Ever since the Disneyland Park opened on July 17, 1955, the Disneyland Resort has been a magical and innovative destination for families. 60 years later, Disneyland continues to shine and entertain. Watch our video tour below:
Special 60th anniversary events at Disneyland include:
The Haunted Mansion. The stuff of Disney legends, the Hatbox Ghost returns to the thrilling yet humorous Haunted Mansion.
The Matterhorn. Finally, the Matterhorn’s yeti got a terrifying makeover for the 60th Anniversary on this bobsled classic.
The Disneyland Forever fireworks show. An amazing and awesome fireworks show.
Peter Pan. A newly animated nursery scene awaits riders on Peter Pan’s Flight.
Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. As is fitting for the park’s Diamond Celebration, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle glistens like never before, dripping and dazzling with diamonds.
Paint the Night Parade. This all-new parade features Mickey Mouse and Tinker Bell using enchanted pixie dust to paint the night into an incredible evening experience. Over 1 million lights are used to make your favorite Disney characters glow. This is my favorite Disney parade of all time.
World of Color. If you thought the World of Color light show was amazing before, you’ll love the new version called Celebrate! The Wonderful World of Walt Disney in honor of Disneyland’s 60th anniversary. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and Mickey Mouse, the show follows the journey of Walt Disney’s creations.
Mad T Party. The Mad T Party had returned to California Adventure with live entertainment, music and dancing.
A Stay in the Disneyland Dream Suite. Certain guests in the park will win a chance to stay in the Dream Suite — the private apartment above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in New Orleans Square. On top of that, they will get a one-carat white Disney diamond. You can enter the sweepstakes here.
Buy the Glow With the Show ears and the paintbrush wand. Later in the night, get ready to make some new friends with this pair. You can change other parkgoers’ ear colors with the wand.
There’s so much to enjoy, including special food, merchandise, surprises and events. Explore Disneyland and California Adventure and discover the magic (and delights) as Walt’s famous theme park turns 60.
