Set in a 13th-century Capuchin convent, perched on an Italian cliff overlooking the Mediterranean, Anantara Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi is a monastic retreat with facilities and experiences that immerse guests in “Convent Life,” from luxurious rooms set in monks’ quarters and exquisite dishes made with ingredients grown in the convent garden, to rejuvenating wellness experiences.
In the heart of the hotel grounds, Anantara Spa is a 1,345-square-foot travertine-clad sanctuary with a hammam, sauna, steam room, and relaxation areas with views of the sea. With its new spa treatments menu, the wellness center focuses on experiences that reinforce the brand’s commitment to quality products and a connection to its territory, both in Amalfi and in Thailand where Anantara has its roots.
Inspired by serene convent surroundings, local ingredients, and regional healing traditions, Anantara Spa introduces its new spa menu of unique Elemis body and facial treatments, representing the British brand’s first presence in Italy. Elemis boasts over 35 years of research and development and a holistic, sustainable approach that aligns with Anantara’s commitment to the planet and its biodiversity.

New Spa Menu
The updated selection of blissful experiences includes indulgent treatments by Elemis, a bespoke couple’s massage by La Selva di Positano infused with Amalfi citrus, and a signature experience that embodies Anantara’s deep-rooted philosophy of warm-hearted service. Body treatments include a cleansing salt scrub and a frangipani wrap. Three new facials promise visible results: “Renew” reduces fine lines and wrinkles for a hydrated look; “Reveal” uses Tri-Enzyme technology to minimize pores and uneven skin texture; and “Define” delivers energized, rejuvenated, and sculpted skin.
An irresistible new facial option is “La Selva di Positano Refresh” – a tailored treatment using products by Italian beauty brand La Selva di Positano, which crafts skincare goods from regional botanicals. The facial is enriched with orange oil and includes a calming Gua Sha massage using rose quartz.

La Selca di Positano’s citrus products also inspired Anantara Spa’s most indulgent highlights, designed for couples. The Yellow Experience by La Selva di Positano takes place on an al fresco terrace in a private cabana for two. Side-by-side massages are given with La Selva di Positano lemon oil then facial massages feature skin-nourishing orange blossom oil. Renewed couples conclude their service with refreshing drinks while taking in the romantic sea view.
The final touch to the new menu is a signature experience that references Anantara’s Thai roots. The “Rejuvenating Journey” is inspired by Anantara’s philosophy of Nam Jai, which embodies the heartfelt service for which the brand and its home country are known. The treatment begins with a soothing, frangipani- and hibiscus-infused foot cleanse followed by a restorative massage is tailored with a choice of oils, and a hydrating facial.

The treatments are part of the hotel-wide experience of convent life at a peaceful pace, which is augmented by yoga and breathwork amid the historic cloisters, workouts in the panoramic gym, and refreshing swims in the outdoor pool, both of which overlook the Mediterranean Sea.
