Active new moms who want to incorporate their tots into their workouts are in luck. New from Australia, an infant carrier dubbed Smiling Sling encourages both fitness and bonding for mother and baby, all while using your baby as a living gym weight.
Spotted by Springwise this week, the sling was designed by Sydney mom and personal trainer Nikolinka Krstanoska-Blazeska to give new mothers more flexibility when it comes to working out. Strap your baby into the sling, and you can perform a variety of pre-set exercises, such as bicep curls using elasticized bands and squats, designed to tone, strengthen, and achieve weight loss – all while maximizing bonding time with your baby.
Sample exercises are available on the Smiling Sling site and in a booklet that accompanies every purchase. In addition, specialized training classes are also in the works.
