Shangri-La has opened their first resort in Mainland China, Shangri-La’s Sanya Resort and Spa, Hainan. Boasting more than 300 yards of beachfront on the popular Haitang Bay, the 340-room resort is set on 45 acres and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and hills.
Dubbed the “Hawaii of China,” this popular vacation destination is designed for adults and families alike.
Choose from two designated areas – Oasis and Sands – a Water Park and Adventure Zone, two free-form pools; jogging and bike trails; a beach football field; sand volleyball court; water games; a state-of-the-art-gym with an outdoor deck for activities such as Tai Chi and yoga.
Guestrooms are naturally-inspired, and include quaint details like closet handles carved to look like seashells and gold-leaf seashell artwork.
Restaurants include Kon Tiki, which offers South Pacific flavors and interactive live fire dance performances, grass skirt dancing and a drum show, authentic Chinese at Chuyi Wutai, and fresh seafood and Southeast Asian fare at S.E.A.
The Spa at Shangri-La and eight two-story villas will open later this year.
But first, we have sneak peek in picture form, below:
