If “The White Lotus,” “Agatha All Along” and “Parks and Recreation” actress and comedian Aubrey Plaza has her way, she’ll convince everyone to shake up holiday traditions by voting eggnog out. Why? No matter the season, margaritas are always in.
For celebrations this season, Plaza has one piece of advice. “Move over, eggnog. Margaritas are crashing the holiday party this year,” Plaza said. “They’re easy to make, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser. I’m just saying: skip the ‘nog, and let’s make spirits bright with margaritas made Marga-right – Cointreau, fresh lime juice and any tequila. Literally any tequila you want.”

The margarita currently reigns as the #1 cocktail in the U.S. According to a new study from Cointreau — a key ingredient in the original margarita recipe — more than 90% of consumers would drink a margarita at holiday parties, significantly more than other popular cocktails, including eggnog (spiked or not).
“The Margarita isn’t just a staple for summer, it is also the perfect choice for holiday toasts and winter celebrations,” said Nicolas Beckers, President and CEO at Rémy Cointreau Americas. “We want to remind consumers that a Margarita is a timeless, convenient crowd-pleaser to serve guests this holiday season and all year long.

In that spirit, Cointreau and Aubrey Plaza collaborated for a limited-edition “Make Your Eggnog a Margarita” holiday kit featuring an “Any Tequila” decanter autographed by Plaza, a 750 ml bottle of Cointreau (the essential orange liqueur used in authentic Margarita cocktails), bottled lime juice, recipe cards, and a coaster set. The fun boxed kit is available exclusively online at Reserve Bar, where shipping is free with the code “DitchTheNog.”
