Samsung has been riding high of late with the success of their Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Now comes word that the South Korean giant will team up the U.S’s largest technology retailer, launching Samsung Experience Shops in 1,400 Best Buy stores around the country.
Samsung Experience Shops will allow consumer to touch and play with Samsung’s full range of mobile products including smartphones, tablets, laptops and cameras. The Experience shops will be manned by employees trained in the activation and usage of Samsung products.
The Samsung Experience Shop will be similar the Apple areas that are in Best Buys around the country.
The move continues the aggressiveness of Samsung, which is enjoying enormous success with the Galaxy smartphones (and to a lesser extent, the Galaxy tablets). Samsung has pushed the edge of smartphone technology to the point where they have exceeded some aspects of the iPhone. The Samsung Experience Shops should help push sales even further, and using Best Buy as a partner, it allows them to quickly and efficiently set up the shops.
For Best Buy, it continues a trend of partnering with key manufacturer (such as Apple). The retail giant has lost money for years, and needs to remain relevant in the ever-evolving technology market. A key player like Samsung should only help them.
