New cars from two auto icons.
The two luxury car giants – Rolls-Royce and Bentley – vied for air-space this week with “teaser” bulletins attempting to elevate interest in forthcoming new models. Rolls-Royce was the more forthcoming of the two, revealing that its Ghost would deliver “peerless riding dynamics” thanks to “intelligent four-corner air suspension” capable of detecting the movement of a “single rear passenger from one side of the seat to the other” and compensating accordingly. An on-board computer will read “multiple inputs from sensors around the car”, with the dampers alone making load calculations every 2.5 milliseconds to ensure that legendary, magic-carpet ride. Bentley left us in the dark, literally and metaphorically. It produced shadowy stills and a film image of a small section of its new car’s bonnet. – From The Telegraph
