Daniel Victory earned a fourth-place slot in the GQ Magazine/Bombay Sapphire’s “Most Inspired Bartender” contest in Las Vegas. This is the second year that the Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans’ mixologist was chosen to compete in the competition, which drew more than 1,200 entries in 2009. He was among the 41 semi-finalists flown to Las Vegas. His Courtyard Cooler cocktail placed fourth. He will be featured in the December issue of GQ Magazine. In 2008, he placed within the top 10. Victory, a New Orleans native who has worked at the hotel since it opened in 2000, will return on Friday, Sept. 4, to the Davenport Lounge on the third floor lobby level of The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans, 921 Canal St., to show off his winning Courtyard Coolers. – from Nola
