Humanitarian and actor Richard Gere’s Strongheart Manor is up for $47.5 million. Though the 6.3-acre North Haven, New York, waterfront estate has been on the market for almost two years, it has failed to charm buyers.
Home to a dozen bedrooms as well as the same number of bathrooms, the Hamptons villa is located near Sag Harbor. The 1902 property also features two guesthouses, a gym and an outdoor basketball court, a 60-foot heated pool along with a waterfront pond and a lovely tea house.
The gated compound boasts of a sprawling 300 feet of direct bay frontage. The shingled main residence has been thoroughly and thoughtfully renovated with swanky finishes and the state-of-the-art geothermal heating system.
Porches and patios overlook manicured lawns and flowering gardens, while a deep, screened porch extends almost the full width of the main house to offer a serene view of Peconic Bay. Pretty Woman actor had purchased the three-parcel spread in three separate transactions for a total of $11.3 million. First offered for sale in the summer of 2013 for $65 million, the property was then put up for an asking price of $56 million in the spring of 2014. The current listing of Richard Gere’s Hamptons villa features a steep price cut in an attempt to lure buyers.
