The 2016 Grammy Awards ceremony, the biggest evening of the music industry, celebrated the best of pop, rock, rap and country music at Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California. While our ears were all for the melodies and the winners, our eyes were wide open to watch out for the industry’s finest in their red-carpet avatars. The fashion award for this year’s trend on Grammy’s red carpet goes to floor-length dresses with low necklines and cut-outs at the waist.
Selena Gomez – ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’ singer may not have bagged any music award but the diva rocked the red carpet as the best dressed in a glittery midnight blue Calvin Klein spaghetti strap gown. Flaunting skin with the side cutouts and a crisscross back, she completed the look with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Norman Silverman Diamonds jewelry.
Taylor Swift – The winner of the top prize of album of the year, the 26 year old American singer-songwriter made heads turn in a custom-made Atelier Versace, two-piece, orange and fuchsia outfit along with a new shorter hairdo. With three awards in her bag, the Best Album, Best Pop Vocal and Best Music Video for Bad Blood, Taylor Swift stood tall on Stuart Weitzman heels and dazzled with a diamond choker and a ruby cocktail ring.
Lady Gaga –The 29-year-old celebrated music at the Grammys by paying a tribute to David Bowie in form of a medley of Bowie’s biggest hits as well as her red carpet appearance. Lady Gaga wore a custom designed Marc Jacobs electric blue satin coat dress embellished with multi-colored sequins and decorative metallic elements. She teamed it up with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and her signature sky-high platform heels.
Adele –The “Hello” star looked ravishing in a black embellished Givenchy gown and statement jewelry by Ofira.
Bella Hadid –As cut outs dominated the red carpet, Bella Hadid also sported the trend by wearing a black dress from Alexandre Vauthier. The supermodel stole the show from The Weeknd in the outfit that featured a high center slit and a daring neckline. She rounded up the look with a matching black clutch, Alexander Wang heels and a diamond cuff.
Carrie Underwood – Carrie sported a black dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran which was complemented with black heels by Giuseppe Zanotti.
Alessandra Ambrosio –The sexy supermodel upped the ante by slipping on a black cutout Atelier Versace gown, the hot trend of the season. She teamed it up with dressy Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
