We’ve long been fans of San Diego’s chic Relais & Chateaux resort, Rancho Valencia, which earlier this year unveiled the final phase of its $30 million renovation as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. But their “All Agave Project” offers us even more to love.
The resort’s Pony Room bar offers an impressive array of more than 100 agave-based spirits, including tequila, mezcal, bacanora and sotol. Guests can take place in three ways to experience “all agave” during their stay, including a tasting tour, and “All Agave Club,” a membership program ($295 annually) that includes the tour plus other perks like regular swag, a monthly education seminar at the resort each month, and special member’s only pricing. THe resort also offers seminars on the spirit for guests and non-member locals alike.
Of course, you could always just come in for a crazy cocktail, too, like the $50 “Livin’ Large,” a blend of Kah Day of the Dead Extra Añejo, Don Julio Añejo Claro 70th Anniversary and Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia or the much more reasonably priced “Flyin Hawaiian” ($13) made from Charred Pineapple Infused Herencia Blanco, Cointreau Noir and Fresh Lemon Juice. Sounds divine — and a great place to enjoy the upcoming Cinco De Mayo holiday, as well!
