Usually when you come back from a vacation, it takes a while to get back into the mix of things. Well, not in Paris. It throws you back into the mix so quickly you can barely realize you were gone at all.
I have returned from my trip to Lithuania. It was so lovely to see my family but to be honest I was craving Paris like crazy. As soon as I landed I started to feel fantastic again. It might have been raining just a tad but that’s the Paris I love so much. The city of lights, city of love that is full of surprises. Sometimes it’s a sunny city, sometimes it’s wet. But it’s always fabulous.
Of course I had events planned as soon as I returned. I am fortunate enough to have made great friends here that invite me to really nice parties and events so I am never bored. Last night, for the first time I went to Le Dauphine Restaurant Bar Terrasse. I met with a couple of friends and we entered this beautiful terrace. We found a nice table and started drinking wine while others joined and filled the place up nicely. The outdoor air was clean and refreshing.. the perfect night to welcome me back to this beautiful city. Apparently, this shindig has been happening every Thursday this summer. I must admit, first I was angry that I didn’t know about this before. I could have been enjoying this all summer? Then I looked around and noticed that every single person there was chic and sophisticated. This of course make me even more upset that I haven’t been coming here every week. Ok, this is where I have to kick myself and remind the whining me to enjoy the moment I am living now. So I poured myself some more wine and took a deep breath. I couldn’t help but to smile to myself (with the risk of looking like a fool who smiles for no reason), and thanked the clear skies above me that this will continue “until the weather gets poor.”
