A bacon lover’s gift set that includes a full pack of bacon, a money clip for the man who “brings it home” and cuff links shaped like bacon strips have become some of this season’s hottest Father’s Day gift ideas. It’s a clever marketing campaign launched to coincide with Father’s Day next week by American meat and cold cut brand Oscar Mayer.
Their message? Ditch the perennial tie or World’s Best Dad coffee mug and get the bacon-loving dad or father of your children a bacon-themed gift set.
Included in The Commander set, for instance, is a stainless steel money clip inscribed with the words “Bringin’ it Home.”
The Matador, meanwhile, includes a set of bacon-shaped cuff links, and The Woodsman a multi-tool knife set.
And just days after launching this week, the sets, which range between $22 to $28, have sold out.
In a cheeky YouTube video (below) that likens bacon to diamonds for men, ladies present their gents with a velvet box in which are nestled strips of perfectly cut and cured bacon, eliciting looks of surprise and delight.
