Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest person lives in the world’s most expensive home and henceforth will ride in India’s most expensive car too. One of the world’s most powerful people has just acquired his newest set of wheels in the form of an armored BMW 760i.
The car has been exclusively customized to render the highest form of security. Specially designed in Germany, it is bullet-proof with armor on the chassis as well as windows. Being the richest man in India comes for a price as since 2013, Mr Ambani has been provided with Z-category security (the highest in India) because of threats received by mail.
Though the BMW 760i’s base cost has been reported as about $300,000, the armored edition is worth $1.4 million. And the man has set one more record by paying $251,000 for its registration, just a little less than the actual price of BMW 760i. This move has crowned Mukesh Ambani’s BMW with Mumbai’s costliest car registration. Given the kind of vehicle with value added features, it is reportedly the costliest car owned by any Indian till date. Since the import duty on armored cars in India is 300%, the cost of the car ballooned to $1.4 million which in turn escalated the high registration cost.
