Mouton Cadet has been the official wine supplier of the Cannes Film Festival for 25 years and the internationally renowned brand is celebrating this milestone by opening a new wine bar. The new bar, located atop the Palais des Festivals, was designed by artistic director Mathias Kiss who was inspired by an eclectic mix of modern Palm Springs architecture and French Art Deco. The space is light and airy, including large mirrors that reflect the stunning vista seen from the 6th floor, and a number of artfully placed light bulbs in the ceiling that gesture to the bright lights of classic Hollywood film premiers.
The Mouton Cadet wine bar will host a number of exclusive events over the course of the 69th Cannes International Film Festival, from May 11th to May 22nd. The bar will be serving a Mouton Cadet limited edition 2016 Cannes throughout the festival; the collector wine will also be available at a number of distributors in selected countries around the world. On the evening of Thursday, May 12th, the bar will officially reveal its wine menu, and there will be musical performances by soloist Laurent Korcia and songwriter-singer Juliette Armanet. The wine bar expects to see a number of big names coming through its doors this year. Among the guests is Canadian director Xavier Dolan, who is promoting his newest film “It’s only the end of the world,” with French actors Marion Cotillard, Gaspard Ulliel, Lea Seydoux, and Vincent Cassel.
