‘Neighborhood gem’ doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Dante is that casual cool spot in Greenwich Village where you want to saddle up to the bar for a night of craft cocktails… or savor some Italian-American fare with friends surrounded by old world European atmosphere… or maybe just stake out one of the coveted outdoor tables for some prime MacDougal Street people watching.
If you’re a New Yorker in the know, it has been a go-to spot for lunch and dinner. But we’ll bet you didn’t know that now you can revel in Dante’s delectable famed burrata dish for breakfast!
Yes! Paired with fresh honey, toasted spelt, and topped with the perfect amount of sea salt, this staple of the Dante’s dinner menu fits right in with the restaurant’s new boastworthy breakfast.
Just earlier this month, Chef Rachael Polhill started serving her favorite meals to start the day Monday through Friday mornings (starting at 8:30AM) alongside Beverage Director Naren Young’s delicious drinks.
‘Mornings at Dante’ features a select menu of five to six early day offerings and tempting artisan breads. In addition to the Burrata, we couldn’t get enough of the Avocado on charred toast with goat’s cheese, arugula, basil and the ever-essential poached egg. Or maybe our favorite was the house made Banana Bread, served toasted with ricotta and honey…
No matter what item on the menu makes your morning, Dante’s is a treasure that just may become your favorite NYC breakfast tradition.
Dante is located at 79-81 MacDougal Street
