Missoni celebrates the launch of its first in-house bag collection at Via Sant’Andrea which is renowned as a luxury shopping street in Milan, Italy. This elegant collection of the bags has been entirely produced in house at Missoni’s factory in Sumirago.
The brand’s latest collection comprises of four styles which will be undergo makeovers every season. Designed by Margherita Maccapani Missoni, the line flaunts iconic features like the zigzag lining as well as rust tone closures.
The Miss-01 style includes a range of small zipped cases with handles and a shoulder strap. For next fall, this style will be available in hammered calf, prepped in treated calf embroidered with Missoni’s iconic zigzag motif.
The Miss-02 style includes soft and spacious tote bags, mixing suede and calf.
The Miss-03 line boasts of more structured and rigid leather handbags.
Lastly the Miss-04 style ups the ante with a collection of rectangular evening clutches. These will be available in Missoni’s knitted fabrics and also in silk satin with sequined embroideries.
Missoni creative director, Angela Missoni, stated that “I’m very proud of Margherita’s work.” She added that this move of creating the first in-house bag collection reflects the company’s strategy of expanding its accessories business.
