Michael Andretti’s $12 Million Indianapolis Home

Pursuitist - 5-Star Luxury

Racing driver and Indy Car team owner Michael Andretti is one of the biggest names in motorsports, so it’s not surprising that he has the biggest house in the Indianapolis — home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Spanning more than 21,000 square feet behind gates on more than 5 acres, the property includes 570 feet of gorgeous Geist Reservoir shoreline. It’s big and beautiful and one of the most valuable properties near Indiana’s capital city.

The home is a whopping 21,000 square feet, and it can be yours (including all the furnishings) for $11.95 million asking price, now that Andretti is retiring to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he bought a $27.37 million waterfront estate earlier this year.

Just what do you get for the price of a private island? A massive main house with an owners suite, guest suite, guest house with two apartments, nine bedrooms in all, nine full bathrooms, three 1/2 baths, seven fireplaces, three garages for 12+ cars, lounge, three kitchens, one laundry room per floor, a pool, a covered boat dock, an elevator, and lush grounds.

The lower entertainment level has a wine cellar, theater, four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a 15-seat bar, a home gym, a billiards area, and an checker-flag themed arcade including an arcade game based on Andretti’s racing career as one of the most-winning drivers of all time.

Michael Andretti won an incredible 42 races with his racing teams, and raced in Formula 1 and the Indianapolis 500. Speeding past the checkered flag in first place runs in the family, of course. Michael followed in the footsteps of his father, the legendary Mario Andretti, who won multiple F1 races at IndyCar, the Indianapolis 500, Daytona 500, and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

The Andretti racing heritage explains the crystal chandeliers hanging in two of the three climate controlled garages. The property also has an additional 1,800-square-foot carriage house to accommodate live-in employees.
