Blu Water Studio completed the design for an original looking shoe store in Malaysia, in accordance with the brand values of company Melissa. The design was inspired by the manipulation of a paper sheet and is based on a predominantly white color palette, contrasted by the colorful shoes on display.
According to the official press release, “in order to achieve a mold to suit Melissa’s flexible shoes, Blu Water explored the shapes and outcome of compressing sheets and peeling layers. The peeling effect is apparent on the right side of the shop where, make-believe layers of sheets are peeled off the wall forming shelving for the display of the brand’s colorful product“. The famous M Dreams logo is located near the entrance and is emphasized by a dark color, pleasantly contrasting the white walls, floors and ceilings of the interior. Minimalist, yet creative, the Melissa shoe store in Malaysia (discovered by Pursuitist here) is an example of functional and aesthetically appealing commercial design.
