He has moved out of the LVMH building but his eponymous brand has just moved in to Galeries Lafayette Berlin. The ex-creative director of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, has opened a new in-store accessories shop in the German branch of the luxurious Parisian department store. This outpost retails Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs handbags and other stuff on the area reserved on ground floor.
Though Marc Jacob’s ready-to-wear collection is available elsewhere in Germany, the accessory-special store at Galeries Lafayette Berlin is all set to woo shoppers with desirable leather objects. The new location is also ideal to lure tourists to the Mitte shopping stretch. The German Galeries Lafayette building is distinguishable with its modern glass facade and is a renowned international shopping destination.
WWD reports that the latest accessories outlet by MJ rubs shoulders with Chloé and Gucci stores too. On behalf of the brand, Caroline Morrison states that, “Berlin’s kind of its own market, especially for luxury, so maybe a bit more challenging, to be honest. But I think it’s great to have this visibility and this window in Galeries Lafayette, which is a historical partner for us, so it’s very positive.”
