Great chance to visit the Maldives in style.
The low-lying Maldives may be slowly drowning because of global warming, but that hasn’t stopped Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts from opening what it calls the “first international luxury resort” on the southern part of the Indian Ocean archipelago. The Villingili Resort and Spa, which opened in late July, is comprised of 142 standalone villas, including Water Villas perched on stilts above the tortoise-blue lagoon, and Tree House Villas elevated ten feet above ground. There are also outdoor showers and wooden decks with private infinity pools. – From NY Times
