LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Parsons New School for Design announced the opening of “The Art of Craftsmanship Revisited: New York” exhibit. The exhibit showcases the work of local artisans and Parsons students and the heritage of LVMH brands.
This exhibit, part of the multi-faceted program and student contest that LVMH and Parsons launched in late 2009 to celebrate artisanry, will be held in the historic homes in Nolan Park on Governors Island in New York City every Saturday and Sunday from June 5-27, open free to the public.
Renaud Dutreil, Chairman of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton in North America, said: “This Exhibit allows us to expose thousands of New Yorkers and visitors to the City to the enormous talent of our local artisans and to see the work of our next generation of design talent come alive.”
Joel Towers, Dean of Parsons, said: “This innovative project provided an extraordinary opportunity for our students to work alongside top artisans in their studios, and to translate that experience into cutting edge design work of their own.”
The exhibit is part of LVMH’s commitment to projects worldwide that celebrate the arts, encourage contemporary creation, preserve cultural heritage, promote environmental sustainability, and support young talent.
