Louis Vuitton has always been inspired by a desire to explore new horizons and twisting the boundaries with its emblematic creations. Year after year, LVMH brands unveil exclusive new products that celebrate the summer season, featuring a different sun-drenched creation each week. For the summer of 2015, the French multinational luxury company honors the Twist bag from the Louis Vuitton 2016 Cruise Collection. In 1988, Louis Vuitton gave shape to the Trapèze clutch, a flat bag in Epi leather whose lock featured the interlaced letters “L” and “V” to form the initials LV. Nicolas Ghesquière, the Creative Director of the House, has bought the icon back to life and reinvented it in form of the Twist.
Designed for the 2015 Cruise Collection, the Twist is a roomier version of the Trapèze clutch. And for the 2016 Cruise Collection, presented in Palm Springs, Nicolas Ghesquière decided to dress it up with a palm motif, inspired by the palm trees that gave the city in the California desert its name. The new tropical print serves best for the summer fashion.
While the Twist palm spring edition is a chic and edgy summer accessory, take a look at other forms of Twist that easily intertwines with the season’s wardrobe.
Twist MM is a chic little crocodile bag for $27,900. It is roomier than it looks and is cleverly designed with a “wave” base that provides extra space for storing necessities. Rendered with a 3D bombé effect, the metal closure has a modern, architectural feel. While only a single smooth twist that fits the letter “L” into the “V” helps to open the Twist, the convertible chain handle helps to wear it on shoulder or across the body.Twist Epi Denim PM is a much have bag for denim lovers. Sporting the signature structure and the LV twist-lock, it is shaped out of Epi leather in fashionable denim color with contrasting stitching thread, red for the denim dark and yellow for the denim light version. Give a twist to your bag style with the Twist Epi Denim PM for $3,550.
