The luxury Primland resort near Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, will open its new 72,000-square-foot Lodge in July. Primland is a golfer’s paradise with one of the country’s best-rated courses – the Highlands Course with accolades such as being named one of America’s best new courses by Travel and Leisure Golf in 2007; best new public course ($75 and over) by Golf Digest in 2008; and one of the best new resorts by Golfweek. Other on-site sports include hunting and clay shooting. Primland’s new Lodge will be located adjacent to The Highland Course, designed by renowned links course golf architect Donald Steel, and will have 26 luxury guest rooms, as well as a spa (Phase 1 of the spa is set to open this fall.), an indoor pool, fitness center, recreation area, a ballroom, golf shop, locker rooms, a fully-outfitted board room, meeting facilities, theater, indoor parking, and an observatory that, “brings the mountains closer to the stars,” said Brooks Bradbury, Primland’s general manager. – From Examiner.com
