Louis Vuitton announces Alicia Vikander as the new star of Nicolas Ghesquière’s “Series 3” campaign. This third campaign brings together photographers Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber for the label’s Fall/Winter 2015-2016 collection.
The 26 year old Swedish actress joins Jennifer Connelly and Michelle Williams for the fall campaign which will globally debut in the August issue of fashion magazines. It will also be accompanied by two videos shot by the photographers.
WWD reports, that Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women’s collections at Louis Vuitton seeks to represent diverse ages and nationalities in his advertising. He has also cast Liya Kebede, Fernanda Ly and Angel Rutledge for the Teller shots, photographed at the utopian home of a sculptor, located near Barcelona. The location reflects Ghesquière’s passionate interest in modernist architecture.
Weber shot Freja Beha Erichsen, Rianne von Rompaey and Julia Merkelbach at an old airfield which delivers cinematic narrative.
Vikander who is set to become one of the biggest names in Hollywood this year, is known for her performance in Ex Machina (2015), A Royal Affair (2012) and Seventh Son (2014). She is all set to to appear in “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,” “The Danish Girl,” “Tulip Fever” and “The Light Between Oceans.”
